Musings and Story Tale:
Before we get the next chapter started, I would like to note down the advantages of The Nightmare Before Christmas--towards that stupid series called twilight.
(I'M NOT GONNA CAPITALIZE IT. NO WAY)
Anyways! Its got a talking, poetic-snapping skeleton! It has ballads and freaky tunes that have been with us since...well, 1993. There's a gambling sock fulla bugs, a lonely ragdoll and two holidays colliding together!
COME ON. Its every drama/band/choir/brooding kid's movie! What the hell does that stupid seris called twilight got that NBC does not? DRAMA? Plus vampires are just a turn-off if you think about it.
Edward's not THAT hot, kthx.
Just throwing it out there, but...sheesh. Its only been out for three years or so (the books, I mean. The movies are just getting into what Harry Potter did...). NBC, in the meantime, has been in many a childhood before. And its not chock-full of vampires, kthx.
Fuck vampires, by the way.
back to the story.

Patience's Little Mishap
Chapter 10: Hard Way To Escort
~~
The next day was a little more cloudy than usual, but the sun peaked just enough for the area to be filled with the gently morning glow.
That glow reached the small window inside the main office, where Patience and her gang were finally sleeping off the fatigue of yesterday.
The princess woke slowly from her place on the velveteen couch. She rubbed her eyes from sleep dust and stretched, yawning. Her gray eyes looked dazily around.
Jack was snoring from behind the desk, curled in a tight little ball. Poosh was leaning against the walls of his lonely corner, while Malice had taken up the whole of the marble floor, body sprawled out and sleeping peacefully.
The princess giggled to herself. She was glad to have such handsome, lovely and kind princes (even though Poosh really was just a man-steed) sleep near her last night. It made her a little more secure. Safer.
She got up from the couch, walked over towards Jack and shook his shoulder gently. By reaction, the carrot-topped prince woke in an instant, feeling the small touch like a lightning bolt all over his body. He covered his body with his arms: his universal 'hide like a coward' position.
Patience giggled softly. "Good morning, Sir Jack!"
Jack peeked from spread fingers over his face and nodded in reply. He still wasn't used to Patience's unwavering kindness towards her. Usually, whoever he spazzed at, they would give him a strange, almost pitiful look.
Patience, in the meantime, just smiled at his stupidity. Jack felt almost guilty of cowering from her gracious greeting.
"H-Hi..." he managed to stifle out from his hidden position.
Patience's smile got bigger and she went over to Malice next. She patted the Other prince's shoulder lightly, resulting with Malice opening his eyes slowly.
"Mm?" he said groggily. Once again, Patience giggled in delight. Malice looked so childish, with his dark blue eyes narrowed in annoyance.
He wasn't used to having others awaken him. It bothered him that he was told to get up out of his own free will.
But his frown seemed to tug lighter than usual when he woke up to Patience's sunshining face.
Patience got up, and shook Poosh up. Quick like that, Poosh was up and smiling gently towards the tangerine haired girl. The princess nodded and moved towards the two princes.
"Shall we, then?" she said cheerfully. Both princes knew what she was talking about, and for once, agreed to go on with her.

Pooma groaned as the sunlight hit his tiny pupils. The damn gates had a squeaking sound and they were bending in the wrong places. The Captain gave a snarl; today felt like a bummer.
Studbot (remember him? He's the eldest of the three guards. With the confusion problem?) greeted his Captain with a strong salute. Pooma shrugged it off and stood beside him outside the gates.
"....Nice day, Captain?"
"I didn't ask if it was."
Studbot looked downwards, now a little befuddled. He asked?
(See how bad it is?)
Pooma crossed his arms, still snarling, still agitated. A little more far off there arrived Grimsley (Middle guard? The really sad one?). The blonde took his place on the vacant side of Pooma.
"G-Good morning, Captain."
"Its NOT a good morning."
Grimsley whimpered and looked downwards as well. He hated saying things that offended his Captain. He started making excuses in his mind that made him feel even more downed than usual.
(His problem is pretty severe too)
Pooma looked about, snarling a little more louder for the other guards to hear. "Where the FUCK is Rife?"
Studbot shrugged, not understanding the question. Grimsley was still making death threats to himself, so he was uncapable to say an answer.
Of course, Rife was the Guard Who Can't Guard. He was known for his laziness for his post, so obviously he was avoiding work at this time.
(How he became a guard, we'll never know)
Pooma growled. His guards were so....STUPID...
~~
Patience skipped among Vacillaite's rubble, humming a small tune to herself. Jack decided for Poosh to piggy-back him (since he was afraid of the sharp glass) and Malice, with his folded arms, trailed from behind.
"Its such a lovely day, ne?!" Patience called to her new friends.
In reply, Poosh grunted, Jack hid from behind his steed's shoulders, and Malice ignored her.
The princess's smile weakened as all three boys walked ahead of her (ignoring the whole ordeal) and she sulked immediately behind.

The princess's smile weakened as all three boys walked ahead of her (ignoring the whole ordeal) and she sulked immediately behind.
Feeling someone's saddened aura is something hard to ignore. For Jack, he noticed it straight on and slid slowly away from his sanctuary of Poosh's shoulders. He went right beside her, walking timidly along and eyes set downwards.
"....it IS a nice day, Princess P-Patience..." he muttered to himself.
Patience lit up and smiled back towards the carrot-top prince. In an innocent gesture, she took Jack's hand, despite having it being sweaty palmed and his scared protest.
"Yay! Come on, lets run to the gates together!"
Jack, with a stifled laugh (or a whimper, since its Jack we're talking about) was then dragged by the ecstatic princess, away from Poosh and Malice.
Poosh coughed randomly while Malice face-palmed in quiet anger.
~~
"Aww SHIT, don't let em IN!"
"DON'T let them in, Sire?"
"YEAH, DON'T, YOU THOUGHT I SAID DO, DIDN'T YOU, STUD?!"
"But I thought you were talking to Grims!"
"He NEEEEVER talks to me..."
"OH SHUT UP, THE BOTH OF YOU LIL SHITS AND DON'T LET THEM IN"
Why the insane dialogue, folks? Apparently, at the same time when Patience and her gang was leaving the town hall building, Pooma, Studbot, and Grimsley was standing at the town's entrance gates and had found that there were approaching invaders heading towards them.
So of course, Pooma made orders to "close the gates." To Studbot.
Now we remember clearly that Stud had NO idea how to take orders so he took this as a confused state of mind that his captain was displaying.
And of course, that led to their heated argument. Along with all three guards having to push against the gates in order for the intruders to be left outside.
"Sire, I-I think there's something wrong with the ga--" Grimsley started to mumble as he struggled with his footing. Pooma roared in frustration and banged on the iron bars with his mountainous fists.
"GODDAMMIT, THE BOTH OF YA, PUT SOME O' YER WEAKLING BACKBONE INTO IT!"
Somehow, Studbot understood that quickly and urged himself on to keep pushing among the gates. Grimsley sadly followed and we leave these three to their misery and woe.
Well, until we get the last piece of the puzzle into it, anyways.
~~
"Ah... what are they doing over there?"
Patience and Jack had skidded to a stop when their eyes found the gates occupied by said three guards. Jack backed off a little from the princess's firm grip, while Malice and Poosh finally caught up to them.
"Why'd you stop, pri--What the HELL are they doing?"
"M-Muh-Muh-Maybe they're b-blocking it?" Jack suggested. He received a glare from the Other prince.
"I don't want them to block it. You THINK they are, do you?" he snarled.
"N-No! W-Why would I think THAT?" Jack squealed. Malice groaned in rising frustration and yanked the Cowardly Prince by his neck-line.
"Because you suggested it, you moron!" Malice followed up with an ungodly storm of cursing towards the carrot-top man.
Patience, with a silent, determined frown, set off again across the street to meet with the struggling guards, unaware that the two princes had forgotten about her folly.
Poosh, still trying to be important, skid beside the two arguing men and tapped both on their shoulders. Malice swatted Poosh's hand off indifferently while Jack swatted the other hand by natural fear of it.
With a sigh, the man-steed decided to ignore them and followed the naive princess down to the gates.
Only to have both figures stopped by a new guard.
He came out of nowhere, his long red hair tied up in a high, samurai-esque ponytail and a scowl imprinted on his face. He pointed his sword towards Patience's chest (and stop thinking about that, you pervs)
"Trying to escape, eh?!" the red-head announced. Patience lifted her hands up timidly, but a small smile on her lips.
"....Eh?"
